I wasn't sure if there were enough needleworkers in the area presently to support a brick and mortar storefront and there are already so many terrific online needlework shops that I knew I couldn't compete there -- and didn't want to! That left me puzzling over what to do until the inspiration for a Mobile Needlework Shop hit me over the head. In a moment I knew I had the perfect way to bring wonderful products to my local stitching community as well as expand that community through outreach!
I have had such overwhelming support and kindness shown since I started this in earnest and I am always amazed and humbled and overwhelmed by how much the service I'm providing means to this community. It's more than just retail, it's providing education and information so that the fine needle arts don't get completely lost to history. I hope to be blogging here in ten years and telling you just how much I'm enjoying the new crop of stitchers that have sprung up since X-Stitch Xpress started in 2009.:)
